Abstract

This paper describes the drug discovery and development pipeline in Section 2 before a more detailed discussion of the impact of technology on the pipeline stages in Section 3. Section 4 identifies the expertise and capabilities in Australia that can contribute at different stages and where there are deficiencies. Section 5 concludes with a discussion of where Australia might concentrate its effort to enable a better participation in the global industry.
