Abstract

This chapter discusses the recent patterns of politics in Papua and policy responses in Jakarta. The timeframe for this examination is the resurgence of Papuan nationalism following the fall of Suharto in 1998 and the period of the implementation of the 2001 Special Autonomy Law down to 2011.
