Abstract

Contains information referring to the chronological chart that had been prepared from the reports of the Melbourne City Council Health Committee from 1913 to 1980 (refer to ‘Chronological chart of the development of children’s services in the Melbourne Municipality’ by Ruth and Maurie Crow). From the chart a few facts can be learned about innovative services of the Melbourne City Council; 1950’s to 1960's being a period of consolidation of children's services, and the period from the 1970's indicating a turn toward community participation.
