Abstract
This paper presents findings from an evaluation of a project that provides ICT infrastructure to residents on a social housing estate, including network ready computers, broadband internet and an ICT training hub. This digital inclusion initiative has made a considerable impact on residents, over 50% of whom are using a computer for the first time. Self reported behaviour and impact suggests that outcomes are significant and include employment search, productivity and access to education and training. These proximal outcomes are indicative of potentially larger and more significant distal impacts and benefits.
