Abstract

Literacy and sexuality could be said to be on the move: politically, socially, and culturally, and this chapter attempts to articulate an understanding of the socio-cultural conditions in which literacy and sexual identity are practiced. It takes, as focus for critical inquiry, how yaoi is used by "Western" readers (a gay man and a straight woman) to resitst and (re)perform heterogendered pedagogies in everyday life.
