Abstract
This is a special issue on Melbourne Regional Plan, titled: "Re-scrambled Plans for Melboure : 15 Years of Ecological Disaster Adopted". The entire space of this issue is devoted to the controversy around the Melbourne regional plan, as the principles underlying this controversy are of great importance for any big Australian city. The contributors, Ruth and Maurie Crow, were official "objectors" to the general concept of the plan, and the report that they review here is the one which deals with their "objection" (amongst others). Contents: 1. Government freezes life-styles 2. Restricted concepts of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works (MMBW) 3. Radical alternatives not examined 4. Regional plan adjustments (for Melb. readers) 5. The Town and Country Planning Board (TCPB) overview
