Some Remarks on the Midpoint Rule in Numerical Integration

Dragomir, Sever S, Cerone, Pietro and Sofo, Anthony (1998) Some Remarks on the Midpoint Rule in Numerical Integration. RGMIA research report collection, 1 (2).

Using some classical results from the theory of inequalities (Grüss' inequality, Hermite- Hadamard's inequality and others) we point out some quasi-midpoint quadrature formulae, for which the errors of approximation are smaller than the error given for the classical approach.
