Abstract
A function may be decomposed into the product of a positive function and another monotone one. Proceeding from the train of thoughts, Pales’s comparison theorem is improved, a new proof of which is given. As a class of special functions, the comparison problem for two-parameter functions are solved. Lastly, the comparison theorems of certain familiar two-parameter homogeneous functions are presented.
