Abstract

Australia Malaysia trade relations have been expanding quite significantly over the last two decades displaying a high degree of complementarity. Widening trade deficits for Australia since the 1997-98 has marked the steadily growing trade relationships between the two countries. While Malaysia’s continuing economic growth offers increased opportunities for Australia in a number of areas; especially primary products and services, it also poses challenges for Australia in the future in areas such as processed food and services industries.
