Abstract

The focus of this podcast for the facilitator and Professor Clare Hanlon was on respect. Specifically, the need for sport clubs to provide choice of sport uniforms to girls and women based on their individual needs. Respecting the needs of girls and women by removing the lower layer requirement of wearing white. This is the first time the range of research was led on sport uniforms has focused on respect, who needs to be respected, why, and the implications. In addition to discussing this research contribution, the discussion of this topic is significant. It provides a new insight to the sport industry on what respect means in the form of sport uniforms and the impact showing this respect would make to girls and women. As a result of this podcast, three sport associations connected with Professor Clare Hanlon to obtain the Guides produced from the research to assist them to change their sport uniform policies.
