Abstract

This paper explores the potential of emerging tehnologies in transforming and automating the business processes of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and enable them to engage with trading partners and customers in global networks. The technologies are associated with Services Orientated Architecture (SOA) through Software as a Service (SaaS), cloud computing and innnovative application environment developed through the Phoenix research program at Victoria University. A service framework based on the emerging technologies from the Phoenix program is presented and discussed in response to the SME barriers raised in accessing those technologies.
