Abstract

This is a poetry lesson that has become a bit of a personal 'benchmark'. I had been teaching English for about 15 years, always including poetry for each cohort, when I moved to aTAFE setting and was confronted (and affronted) by suggestions that TAFE students would not understand poetic form, and I'd be better off teaching a film instead. Ever one for a challenge, I decided to press ahead with some Bruce Dawe.
