On her way to New York in 1959, a young Australian journalist Lillian Roxon, who’d grown up as an impressionable teenager in the town of Brisbane awash with American servicemen, stopped in Hawaii to interview Colonel Tom Parker. Symbolically this would mark the beginning of Lillian’s passion for rock ’n’ roll. Ten years later, she was the queen of New York’s coolest club, Max’s Kansas City, and would write the first ever Rock Encyclopedia.
