This thesis investigates the development of accurate fault location algorithms for EHV transmission lines based on digital simulation techniques. This research covers detailed analysis of the theory of travelling waves on
transmission lines, including the frequency variance of the parameters. The analysis of the two and three terminal systems is carried out in the steady-state and transient conditions.
