Skills of divided attention are important to perform a multitude of tasks. However, there is a dearth of previous research that has investigated means to improve these skills. The present study investigated the use of video games as a training tool to enhance skills of divided attention, explored the influence of video game tiaining on the encoding and retrieval processes of human memory, and thirdly, examined the differential influence of video game training and the process of divided attention on the encoding and retrieval processes of memory.
