Although the concept of corporate governance was only introduced into China in the late 1990s, it has grown
rapidly as a topic of considerable interest in different parts of China. This has been especially so if we read the
pronouncements of government bodies such as the China Securities Regulatory Commission and China’s stock exchanges.
