Borderline personality disorder is characterised by marked impairment in affective, cognitive, behavioural and interpersonal functioning. Recognising the growing need to understand personality pathology on a continuum, the present dissertation sought to examine the impact of borderline personality traits on romantic relationship commitment in a general population, with consideration of attachment styles. In particular, the study utilised the well-established investment model framework to achieve this aim.
