Some tales of the journey undertaken by First year University students and the staff that worked with them over a year on four core subjects. This case writing was used as a reflective tool to improve practice. It is written through the co-ordinator’s looking glass whilst working with a community of learners (150 students, 5 staff) to introduce learner centred inquiry with innovative effective teaching and learning using a range of multimodal, multiliterate strategies and information communication technologies. The cases describe significant encounters in the journey and the commentary reflects on these signposts and the impact that they had on the overall journey to create effective teaching and learning.
