The application of magnetic particle technology to environmental remediation in general, and to wildlife rehabilitation in particular, has been under investigation at Victoria University for a number of years, in collaboration with the Phillip Island Research Centre (PIRC). This work has achieved significant international attention (e.g. Copley, 1999; Pilcher, 2004) and is now at a stage where proof of principle work.
