This study established that the Health Promotion in Sport Assessment Tool (HP-SAT) can be used to monitor and evaluate a range of key sport-related HP policies and practices, particularly as they apply to the support State Sporting Organizations (SSOs) provide their affiliated clubs. The tool also provided reliable information about HP policies and practices for SSO staff, and organizational planning and capacity for HP. In addition, a web-based survey provides a quick and convenient method for sports administrators to participate in evaluation processes and is particularly useful to monitor the implementation of formal sport-related HP programs that aim to develop defined healthy environments. Future research should explore the extent to which SSOs have implemented these HP policies and practices within the nine defined healthy environments and identify their organizational capacity to participate in health-related programs.
