Drawing on combined community psychology and feminist theories and praxis, we have sought to explore how mothers can be supported in their mothering in ways that move beyond the institution of motherhood as an essentially patriarchal construction. Framing the article around the question ‘‘Where’s the feminism in mothering?’’ has provided us with a space to critically reflect both on our own experiences (as mothers, community psychologists/health sociologist, and feminists) and on those of the mothers we work with.
