Dodd, Sue (2009) Gossip Pop. [Performance] (Unpublished)

Abstract

Gossip Pop, a DIY pseudo ‘band' performance project for Dodd combines addictive tabloid and reality tv narratives and imagery with manufactured electro in a lo-fi, funny and often disturbing simulacra of the celebrity pop spectacle and mass media culture. Involving sampling, displacement and deconstruction in the tradition of beat poetry, feminist performance and karaoke. 20 minutes.
