Rojter, Josef ORCID: 0000-0001-7754-6640 (2011) Engineering education for the engineering profession. In: ICEE 17th Annual Conference on Engineering Education, 21 August 2011-26 August 2011, Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK.
Abstract
This paper suggests that the pedagogical debate of PBL versus traditional educational delivery detracts from the larger picture of engineering education, the engineering profession and professional engineering practice.... The paper will argue that the shedding of scientism as the basis for the engineering curriculum is an essential step in designing a curriculum that is oriented to contemporary and future professional engineering practice.
