Reliable satellite broadcast transmission: protoccol design, simulation and analysis

Jutrisa, Ivan Zvonko (1998) Reliable satellite broadcast transmission: protoccol design, simulation and analysis. PhD thesis, Victoria University of Technology.

Abstract

This thesis presents research carried out in the development of the Reliable Satellite Broadcast Transmission (RSBT) protocol. The RSBT design was largely based on the data dissemination requirements of Australia's Bureau of Meteorology, and on Optus Communications' Omnicast Digital satellite service. Protocols commonly used for point-to-point satellites transmission were analysed—mainly to identify protocol procedures that inhibit good performance over a satellite link.
