Abstract

This special transport issue (part 1) entitled "Transport - A Partisan View" features recent contributions on the long-awaited Metropolitan Transportation Committee’s report and a discussion whether the emphasis should be on a radial freeway system or if support should be given for improved railway system. Apart from most vital traffic planning issues, the issue contains discussion on housing densities, growth patterns for locations of major industrial and social facilities, and the impact of all these factors on social behaviour.
