Abstract
The performance of the Alamouti space time block coding (STBC) technique and single-input single-output (SISO) system is compared in the presence of A/D clipping. Square clipping, imposed by a direct conversion receiver structure was considered. With the target symbol error rate of 10-3 it was shown that STB coded signals have higher clip floor, and sensitivity to noise, when compared to the SISO system.
