Abstract
An understanding of sexuality is central to any analysis of gender and sport. Sport, perhaps more than other human activity that takes place in the public realm, compels us to consider the physical body, and in doing so we inevitably observe the biological sex of that body (male or female) and is socially constructed gender identity (masculine or feminine).
