Abstract
The Fire Protection Research Foundation was awarded a Safety Grant by the US Fire Administration to study the effectiveness of alarms for emergency notification of high risk groups. This study aims to show that the ability of young aldults to awaken to auditory alarm is significantly reduced by alcohol impairment.
