Abstract
The changing external environment of Hotel Heritage and feedback from the audit of employee attitudes provided the impetus for the hotel's Executive Group to investigate changing certain elements of the way the hotel operated. It set a number of priorities that included changing the management style of supervisors and department heads, improving communication throughout the hotel, and concentrating on HR functions such as performance review and succession planning. Following a request from the Executive Group, a questionnaire was developed to investigate employee attitudes.
