Abstract

In this edited collection, we have explored aspects relating to sexuality, intimacy and gender which are under-theorised in social work. For many scholars, sexuality has been neglected, not only in mainstream social work research, but also in social work education. In this chapter, we examine some of the key gaps in knowledge and consider ways in which professional education might respond to such gaps. First, we trace some of the key findings of the research showcased in each chapter and explore the utility of using a life course approach to understand sexuality, intimacy and gender.
