Abstract

Finding the sweet spot that balances workplace flexibility with employee quality of life concerns. Modern workers are increasingly able to access work anywhere, anytime, through an array of technologies. At the same time, employee expectations are changing as they juggle the costs of 24/7 accessibility with the benefits of making better use of time. In the session, Margaret and Kirsten will explore ways in which Australian employees are being affected by the growing fragmentation of work: •What degree of fragmentation are employees experiencing in practice? •What are the impacts on their productivity and overall well-being? •How can managers help employees achieve the right balance between improved productivity and overload?
