Abstract
In this chapter John Martino discusses the informational nature of the current war and points out that perceptual warfare generates a vast amount of data that allows manipulation and the way modern war is conducted. The pervasive presence of digital media diffuses perceptual warfare much faster than the information technologies of the 20th century. Martino also states that the application of perception as a weapon sits within a broader military doctrine which has been applied by the Russian Federation since 2014 and is part of the hybrid warfare.
