This final report is based on a project that was commissioned as part of a major program of works in VET in response to recommendations from the 2020 Review of the Disability Standards for Education 2005. The program was managed by the Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) and aimed to enhance the level of support and guidance available to RTOs to support students with disabilities with the VET sector. This part of the program was a project which undertook a targeted review of enrolment practices in VET to better support students with disabilities. The project team was led by CIRES researchers at the dual sector Victoria University and drew upon a national project reference group. The reference group was convened from an open call managed by ADCET and the 16 members covered all states and territories and all sectors of VET, private, public and enterprise. The project team included researchers, access officers and support workers based at Victoria University. The team reviewed and analysed enrolment and associated practices within RTOs, proposed a model to understand enrolment practices and inclusive principles, and produced guidelines to support RTOs ensure their enrolment is inclusive and accessible.
