Abstract

The training package ‘Towards better management’ has been developed to assist training Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote communities in community management. The materials are designed for self-paced learning on-site in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and as a resource for community or enterprise management training. The materials were commissioned by the TAFE National Centre for Research and Development on behalf of the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET). The trainer’s manual is divided into 11 units which match likely components of community organisational activities. Each unit is self-contained so that the trainer can use the package or unit as a whole, or individual sections of units. Other components of the training package are the resource packages (TD/TNC 22.29) and the workbook (TD/TNC 22.33).
